Rooted Together w/ the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust
Last month, the Feyereisen Foundation contributed $4,000 to support the "Rooted Together" initiative, a program led by the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust (KRLT). Launched in 2024, "Rooted Together" is a vocational program focused on preserving native prairies while providing educational and hands-on learning experiences for young individuals with disabilities. The initiative is a collaborative effort between KRLT, four area high school special education departments, and three local individuals with disabilities. In addition to promoting vocational training, the program seeks to address environmental inequities that limit outdoor education opportunities for people with disabilities. Participating high schools include Ellsworth, Prescott, St. Croix Central, and River Falls. Head to this link to watch the project unfold. Be sure to follow KRLT on their socials for more updates!
